ONE OF THE GREAT CHARMS OF THE MUSEUM COLLECTION OF THE CITY OF BRUGES IS ITS SPLENDID DIVERSITY: FROM THE FLEMISH PRIMITIVES TO CONTEMPORARY ART, FROM CLASSIC ‘FINE ARTS’ TO ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS, FURNITURE, SILVER, FOLKLORE… IN SHORT, SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

> Artistic works from the 15th to 21st century are grouped in the Groeningemuseum and the Arentshuis.

> Bruggemuseum is a general title encompassing all the different historical museums: Gruuthusemuseum, Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, Archeologiemuseum, Gentpoort, Belfort, Stadhuis, Brugse Vrije, Volkskundemuseum, Sint-Janshuismolen, Koeleweimolen and Gezellemuseum. Here you can find a veritable treasure trove of art works and historical objects, which all tell the history of Bruges from a different point of view.

> Hospitaalmuseum is the collective name for two historical hospitals: the 8 century old Sint-Janshospitaal and O.L.V.-ter-Potterie. Sint-Janshospitaal is famous for its collection of paintings by the great master of the Flemish Primitives, Hans Memling, while O.L.V-ter-Potterie is better known for its Baroque church and its outstanding silverwork.

Musea Brugge is also responsible for Raakvlak (the intermunicipal archaeological service for Bruges and surrounding area), for the Erfgoedcel (Bruges cultural inheritance department) and for the Flemish Research Center for the Arts in the Burgundian Netherlands.
